Zack Stachowski is currently the Director of Music at St. Ignatius of Loyola, Ijamsville, MD. As a liturgical composer with GIA Publications, Zack released his first collection in 2017.

In May of 2017, Zack, along with Matthew Reichert, launched the successful podcast “Open Your Hymnal” which breaks open the most enduring and consequential songs of the Catholic liturgical repertoire through interviews with composers and commentary. OYH can be found on iTunes and Google Play and most recently has been added to the Living Bread Radio Network. Zack, along with colleagues Matt Reichert and Jes Garceau recently founded the One Call Institute. OCI is a yearly summer institute dedicated to the engagement and formation of young liturgical musicians and their adult advocates.
In addition to his work in liturgical music, Zack enjoys an active career performing in orchestral, chamber and solo capacities throughout the United States. While a student of Davis Brooks at Butler University (Indianapolis), Zack served as concertmaster of the Butler Symphony Orchestra, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra and the New Millennium Philharmonic. While in Indianapolis, Zack was a featured soloist with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra performing Ginastera’s Pampeana No. 1, Stanley DeRusha conducting.

In 2011, Zack completed his M.M. in violin performance from the University of Maryland after studying with James Stern. While at the University of Maryland, Zack participated in chamber music coaching and masterclasses with members of the Guarneri Quartet, Marc O’Connor, members of the St. Lawrence String Quartet, Evelyn Elsing, and Rita Sloan. Since then Zack has led workshops in ensemble and string technique at universities and high schools throughout the United States. As a conductor, Zack has served as the conductor of the Eastern Maryland Youth Orchestra at Washington College (Chestertown, MD), Broadneck Chamber Orchestra (Annapolis, MD), Salisbury University Symphony Orchestra (Salisbury, MD), along with various choral engagements. Frequently engaged as a music director of major national conferences, Zack has music directed for the MidAtlantic Congress, Music Ministry Alive!, and the One Call Institute. Internationally, Zack performed and conducted in halls and cathedrals throughout Mexico, Ireland, Austria, and Israel.
